Missing Digits

Let me preface this post by letting you know that my Mom is missing her pinkie finger from an accident when I was a little girl.  Her other pinkie is bent permanently at the first joint from her breaking it a long time ago as well. Before know Allyson hadn't really noticed but that changed with my Mom's last visit.

When Grammy was here the girls were constantly helping her make things in the kitchen.
Allyson of course constantly kept getting into things while at the counter.  She can't really sit still when she is up there: opening drawers, touching things, etc.  One night Grammy was chopping vegetables and Allyson kept sticking her fingers on the cutting board. So Grammy says, "Allyson stop or I am going to whack your fingers off." Meaning that if she sticks her fingers on the board while my Mom was chopping that she was libel to get her fingers cut off.  A few nights later we were all sitting on the couch and Allyson was on Grammy's lap playing with her hands and a light came on! She noticed that her finger was missing.  She said, "Grammy did your Grandma chop it off because you touched something?" We all went into hysterics.

Then the next night she noticed her bent pinkie and asks, "What drawer did you get into Grammy?"  She really thought that my Mom's Grandma cut off her finger for touching something and broke her other one because she got into a drawer.  I love this kid!
